The Museum of the City of Łódź | Palace of the Poznański Family

Since its founding in 1975, the museum has been dedicated to documenting and presenting the story of Łódź and the people who shaped it. It collects and showcases historical materials, explores the city’s history through research, and helps audiences discover Łódź, both past and present.

Tickets can be purchased no later than 45 minutes prior to the museum’s closing.

On Wednesdays admission to all permanent exhibitions is free.

Directions

Entrances are located along both Ogrodowa Street and Zachodnia Street. The entrance from Zachodnia Street is equipped with a stairlift platform. In front of these doors, on the left-hand side, there is a bell to summon a staff member who will assist with operating the platform.

In the summer months, the museum grounds can also be accessed through the garden from the Manufaktura Shopping Centre side. The entrance to the palace from the garden leads up a set of steps that are not adapted for visitors with limited mobility.

Buses number 59, 87A, and 87B as well as trams number 3, 4, 6, and 45 stop at the stops around the intersection of Ogrodowa Street and Nowomiejska Street.

Buses number 58B, 59, 86, and 96, as well as trams number 2, 11, and 19 stop at the Zachodnia–Manufaktura stop.

From Łódź Fabryczna station, you can get to the museum directly by bus 59 or tram 4.

The Museum of the City of Łódź does not have its own parking. Free public parking is available adjacent to the Manufaktura Shopping Centre, with the lots located about 200–500 metres from the Museum.

In front of the museum on the Ogrodowa Street side, there is a coach drop-off bay with a 15-minute stopping limit. Free coach parking is available at the western end of the Manufaktura Shopping Centre parking area (entry from Karskiego Street).
