International Typography Poster Exhibition

The TYPE + TEXT | Year of the Avant-garde exhibition is dedicated to the celebration of the avant-garde centenary in Poland.
The choice of the venue is not coincidental. Łódź is a unique place — the capital of the avant-garde thanks to its rich and non-material heritage. This makes the city a perfect venue for an exhibition that will bring together works of some of the best typographers from around the world.
It will be a transnational and, perhaps even, cosmopolitan meeting that will symbolically link contemporary design with the historical avant-garde.
The exhibition will display works of more than 120 artists from 30 countries.

The exhibition will also include a screening of Bruno Monguzzi’s The Fly and the Spider’s Web (2016) and a group of objects from Ryszard Cichy’s collection and Józef Robakowski’s collection.
